Sustainable packaging regulations for our future

Some products are now labeled to indicate how the packaging materials should be disposed of correctly.
In private households and industrial companies, product packaging is disposed of separately.

For example, paper/cardboard waste is disposed of in a paper container, making reusable paper/cardboard possible. The same applies to other packaging materials, such as metal or plastic packaging.

The aim is to collect as many used packaging materials as possible separately and take them for reuse, i.e. recycling. In this way, resources are to be saved, waste is to be recycled as well as possible and waste pollution is to be avoided.

The European Union (EU) has issued a regulation for this purpose. The Packaging Directive 94/62/EC must be integrated into national law by all European countries by the end of 2024.
